The journey of leather craftsmanship often leads us down unexpected paths. What if we could capture the essence of classic American workwear while pushing the boundaries of the traditional design? That question led us to this unique Ross jacket where two carefully selected tones of American steerhide come together to tell a new story.
This isn't just another leather jacket - it's a testament to the marriage of vintage and modern craftsmanship. Each element has been carefully considered, from the Japanese-made 1920s Troy wool liner to the rare 1960s brass glider zippers that work in harmony with modern Talon craftsmanship. The North and Judd brass belt buckle, a treasure from our old stock collection, speaks to an era when American hardware manufacturing stood unmatched.

Every so often, we create something that makes us pause and appreciate the art of jacket making anew. This Ross MK 1 represents one of those moments – a special piece that emerged from our dedication to pushing the boundaries of traditional design. What if we took the timeless MK 1 silhouette and reimagined it in two distinct shades of premium Shinki horsehide?
The result is a jacket that honors tradition while embracing innovation. Each detail tells its own story: the authentic Japanese wool Troy liner, the carefully selected mix of Universal and Talon brass zippers, the vintage North and Judd buckle that adds character only time can create. These elements come together to create something more than the sum of their parts.

I chose mine in medium brown oil tanned, the finish of which is quite shiny. The Canuck arrived just in time for my trip to Yellowstone and the canyons, and it elevated my pictures to another level.
